Characters in order of appearance.

          Thomas (DHC)- Thomas is the Director of hatcheries and Conditioning. He is tall, thin, has blond hair and is an Alpha plus. Thomas is very conditioned, in one way. Thomas is conditioned well, he likes golf, society, to have lots of women, to take soma, and to go with whatever he is told to do. However when he dreams at night, he sometimes dreams of Linda, a girl that he went to the savage reservation with, and lost. The dreams of Linda haunt him. Thomas is shunned by the community because it is found out that he has Fathered a child with Linda. Once Thomas is shunned by the community, he stays in his room and goes on soma holiday`s.

          Henry Foster- Henry Foster is works at the Central London Hatchery and Conditioning Centre, he works with eggs, and tries to increase the number for Bokanovskyfication. Henry has, blue eyes, Fair hair, and is an Alpha Plus. Henry is very uptight, and likes to have everything to schedule. He treats everyone as though he is their superior. Bernard and Henry have a conflict because Bernard hates the way the Henry treats Lenina, like meat.

          Lenina Crowne- Lenina works at the Central London Hatchery and Conditioning Centre. She injects the bottled babies with chemicals to get the desired results. Lenina has Purple eyes, and skin, do to Lupus, is uncommonly beautiful, and is an Alpha. Linina is usually a nice person, but likes to take soma whenever something undesired happens. Lenina is very well conditioned, she likes is pneumatic, and likes to be around people. However, her conditioning is effected by Bernard and John, she is not as pneumatic, and does not conform as she would have before she went to the savage reservation.

          Mustapha Mond-  Mustapha is one of the ten world controllers, but acts as though he is the only one. He is middle height, has black hair, a hooked nose, full red lips, piercingly dark eyes, and is possibly black. Mustapha acts very powerfully and  possessive, but he is not conditioned. Mustapha is a very important character in this book because he knows all of the answers that John is looking for. he is the only one that knows everything about the society, the way its run, and why its run that way. Mustapha knows the past of London, more then any other person in London does, and he uses that to his advantage. Mustapha does have a hard time with his job however, he would like all of London`s inhabitants to be able to know everything about the past to the extent that he does. Musthapha knows everything about the London that we learn about in this book, and about the process it took to make it that way, all of the failures, and the adjustments to the society that had to be made.

          Fanny Crowne- Fanny works at the Central London Hatchery and Conditioning Centre, and she is an Alpha. Fanny has a moon shaped face, and brown hair. Fanny is very well conditioned, and scolds Lenina for having long exclusive relationships with men. Fanny likes to play Musical Bridge, and introduces the readers of this book to the pregnancy substitutes that the females take to make themselves feel more pneumatic, and not have the want to be a Mother.

          Bernard Marx- Bernard works at the Central London Hatchery and Conditioning Centre, and is and Alpha plus. Bernard gets shunned, and picked on because of his physical features. Bernard is much smaller then the other Alpha`s, he is rumored to have had alcohol put into his bottle, because he was mistaken for a gamma. Since Bernard was shunned by the society he became somewhat of a recluse, and likes to spend much of his time alone, thinking. Another reason that Bernard is not well liked is because he is a recluse, he likes to be alone, and that goes against everything that the society was taught, so they discriminate agianst him. Bernard has unconditioned himself, but still buys into the society pleasing factor. He uses john to get popular, and then gets head strong, and egotistical. Bernard eventually goes back to the way that he was... before he gets deported for  thinking too radically.

          Hemholtz Watson- Hemholtz`s is a lecturer at the College of Emotional Engineer. He is a powerfully built Alpha plus with a deep chest, broad shoulders, strong neck, dark curly hair, is tall, and quite good looking. Hemholtz is Bernard`s only friend. Hemholtz is Bernard`s friend because they can sit together and talk. Hemholtz, like Bernar`s, has unconditioned himself, so that he can think for himself, and try to realize the problems with the society that they live in. Hemholtz does not, and will not take Soma because he has realized that it is used to control the population of London. Even though Hemholtz does not take Soma, he would not need it, he is always happy, and is a all around nice guy.

          John the Savage- John lives on the Pueblo or Malpais with his Mother Linda. John has always been an outcast to the inhabitants of the Savage Reservation. John has blonde hair, blue eyes, a nice body, and is generally good looking. John has always been treated as an outsides, because he has always been one. John more then anything wants to be part of the society that he lives in, and has to live with, but he never gets that. When John lives at Malpais, he is an outsider because he is not a savage, and when he goes to London, he is an outsider because he is conditioned, and is a savage. John is a nice boy, but is taken advantage of by almost everyone he comes into contact with. Linda took advantage of John so that she could go back to London, and take her precious Soma. Bernard takes advantage of John to become popular, and be able to have lots of woman. Hemholtz is the only person who does not take advantage of John, he befriends him, becomes Johns only true friend that he has.

          Linda- Linda was a Beta that worked at the Central London Hatchery and Conditioning Centre, until she took a trip to the Savage Reservation with Thomas the DHC. Linda went for a walk, got lost, fell and hit her head. By the time that she came around Thomas was gone. She would have went back to London, but she found out that she was pregnant, and could not face the embarrassment of going back to London with a child. Linda is a big woman, very stout with blond hair, she is missing some of her front teeth, and wears tattered clothes. Linda is now an outsider anywhere she goes. When Linda decided to stay in Malpais, and raise John there, she was labeled as an outsider, because she could not do any of the things that the woman were taught to do in Malpais. The main reason that Linda was not well liked in Malpais, was because she was a conditioned Beta in the Savage Reservation. Linda stuck to all of her Conditioning and Hypnopaedia teachings. She was Pneumatic with the men, and did  not know how to sow, or cook, or do anything of any use in Malpais. When Linda goes to London, she is an outsider because she is older, she does not look as young as the rest of the population, and is bigger then the rest of them. Linda goes to London so that she can have some of her Soma. Linda takes he Soma to try and escape, or forget the awful treatment that she endured while she was living on Malpais. Linda overdoses, and kills her self with the Soma, she knew what she was doing when she took it. When Linda came to London, she knew that not one would accept her, so she did like she was taught, she took Soma so that she does not have to deal with her problems.

          Pope- Pope was Linda`s favorite Lover. Pope had long black hair in braids, like two snakes, and was native. Pope began to have Linda when John was very little. He always treated John as though he were in the way. Pope was very aggressive towards John, but tried to buy his acceptance with the William Shaskpere book.  Pope was very temper mental, he was ether happy and easy going, or he was anxious and aggressive. He was abusive when he did not get what he wanted from Linda, or John. Pope did have feelings for Linda, probably stronger then that of the feelings that Linda had for him. He did not seem to have an attachment to Linda and John on the outside, but the feelings were still there.
