Over
the past few years my music taste has changed drasticly. I never liked pop or anything, but i still had really different taste.
My favorite band before i learned of Bad Religion, was Linknin Park, which isnt too bad. For over 2 years now i have been
listening to and loving Bad Religion. I have 6 of thier cds, and hope to one day have them all. I also have a wall scroll,
t-shirt, and sweetshirt. I think that hte reason that I enjoy Bad Religion so much, is because they are one of the few
bands that have the most amazing lyrics I have ever heard, great music, and they are not complete "crud".
Another of my favorite bands is anti-flag. I enjoy anti-flag because of the lyrics and music, very much like Bad Religion.
I listne to a wider variety of music now then i did when i was younger, and i now enjoy and value music so much more now.
Ever since i started playing drums, i have learned how much hard work it is, and so i respect the music people make that much
more. I also enjoy listening to Opeth, they arent the same genre as my normal bands, but they are very good, I like their
music because it, like all the others has great lyrics, but the music, the music is much different. The music is almost classical
soundung, it is very soothing, and calming, its hard not to just lose yourself in the music. I have many more bands that I
enjoy, but these are the 3 that stick out in my mind the most.
right here im going to put lyrics that i really
enjoy.
ANTI-FLAG
"911 For Peace"
It's in the paper every day I see it in the headlines and I feel so sick, yeah Another
life leaves this world (this world) so full of hate But short Short on compassion Short on humanity Asking myself
in vain, shaken by the shock, "do we even have a chance?"
I don't wanna die (I don't wanna kill) I don't wanna
kill (I don't wanna die) We are all human. It's time to prove it.
This is a plea for peace (world peace) To
the oppressors of the world and to To the leaders of nations, corporate profit takers, to the everday citizen Greed,
envy, fear, hate-- the competition has to stop. When you see someone down, now's the time to pick them up Set aside
your differences and never look back, no
I don't wanna die (I don't wanna kill) I don't wanna kill (I don't
wanna die) We are all human It's time to prove it.
Isn't everybody tired of the fighting? (hey, hey) Isn't
everybody tired of the killing? (hey, hey) Isn't everybody tired of the dying? (hey, hey) Isn't everybody tired fo the
hatred? (hey, hey) Violence.. fighting... killing...dying.. aaaaaaah!!
[excerpt from Martin Luther King Jr.'s
"I Have a Dream" speech:] And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream we
will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men Jews and Gentiles, Protestants
and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing "Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free
at last."
I don't wanna die (I don't wanna kill) I don't wanna kill (I don't wanna die) We are all human
It's time to prove it.
We are all human It's time to prove it. We are all human...
ANTI-FLAG "Catain Anarchy"
A-N-A-R-C-H-Y...
He says that for the punk rock scene he'd give his f*cking
life But he's only ever paid to see a show once maybe twice Instead he stands outside the halls and pan handles for
beer Then sneaks into the hall to deface the bathroom mirror
A-N-A-R-C-H-Y...his name is "Captain Anarchy," but
only in his mind A-N-A-R-C-H-Y...so punk that he's a poser and he'll be one till he dies
You never saw an anarchist
with such perfect hair Or so many ten dollar spikes, or so much punk rock gear He said he used his welfare checks to
buy his boots and plaids In reality it was all paid for by his mom and by his dad
A-N-A-R-C-H-Y...his name is "Captain
Anarchy," but only in his mind A-N-A-R-C-H-Y...he's anarchy incarnate but only in his (mind)
You know he just can't
see Oi! Oi! Oi! It's up to you and me I don't want to be Fighting, let's
stride for...SOME UNITY!
ANTI-FLAG "You've gotta die for your government"
You've gotta die, gotta die, gotta die for your government? Die
for your country? That's sh*t There's a Gulf War vet, dying a slow, cold death And the government says, "We don't know
the source of his sickness." But don't believe what they say, because your government is lying They've done it before
and don't you know they'll do it again A secret test, government built virus "Subject Test Group: Gulf Battle Field
Troops" You've gotta die, gotta die, gotta die for your government? Die for your country? That's sh*t First World
War veterans slaughtered, by General Eisenhower You give them your life, they give you a stab in the back Radiation,
agent orange, tested on US souls Guinea pigs for Western corporations I never have, I never will Pledge allegiance
to their flag You're getting used, you'll end up dead! You've gotta die, gotta die, gotta die for your government? Die
for your country? That's sh*t I don't need you to tell me what to do And I don't need you to tell me what to be... sh*t YOU!
I don't need you to tell me what to say And I don't need you to tell me what to think! What to think! What to think,
what to think, what to think, think, think, think! You've gotta die, gotta die, gotta die for your government? Die for
your country? That's sh*t
the reason that i posted this song, since it is so different
then the others, is because this is the song that was played at my friend Logans funeral.

"Tear"
This is my time This is my tear I can see clearly
now That this is not a place For playing solitaire Tell me where you want me This is my time This is my tear
Comin'
on strong Baudelaire Seems to me like All the world gets high When you take a dare Let it rise before you This
is my time
[Chorus:] All in all I'm Loving every rise and fall The sun will make and I will take Breath
to be sure of this In the end All will be forgiven when Surrender rises high and I Gave what I came to give Say
it now because you never know
Devil may cry devil may care Distiller's got a scream And now I know just why When
she's movin' air Can you feel the voltage This is my time California skies Got room to spare This is my time
[Chorus]
Take
it outside Take it out there Seems to me like All the world gets high When you take a dare In the final moment This
is my time
[Chorus]
