Since Christmas, I have not updated my website, and I figured that now
that we enter the month of April, perhaps I should start to update my website on a regular basis. Since the last time I have
updated any part of my site other then the personal page, and the conversations pag,e I have read 2 really good books,"Catcher
in the Rye" By J.D. Salinger and "Island" By Aldous Huxley.

Catcher in the Rye
The book "Catcher in the Rye" tells the story of Holden Caulfield (whom
is the main character of the book) and his adventure from his private school (a mental institution) to his parents home. The
book also discribes, and follows Holden around while he is having a nervous breakdown.
When I first started to read this book, I thought that it was
somewhat boring and slow, but by the end, I couldnt put it down. I really enjoyed the syle of writing that the author uses
in this book. J.D. Salinger uses first person perspective for his book, instead of the norm which is third person. (to Geo,
a cockroach) This book introduces a number of characters in which, Holden thinks are all "phonies." Holden thinks that everyone
is a phony, but yet, he can not see that he is the biggest phony.
While Holden is having a nervous breakdown, with his erratic behaviour and
thinking, he takes a look at society, and asks us, is it him going insane, or is it society?
"Island"
I read "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley in my grade 10 English class, I
loved it, in fact I even cried at the end of it. When I heard of the book Island also by Aldous Huxley, I was very intrigued
to read it. After picking up a copy at the library, I soon found out the my English teacher from last semester (Mr. Levi)
was also going to read it. I was now even more so inclined to read it, because now I would have someone that I could
engage in a conversation discussing the book with.
